    La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica

    After completing Spanish IV Honors or Spanish V Honors a student with an overall GPA (including quality points) of 3.0, a 3.75 GPA in Spanish, an exemplary discipline record, plus 2 teacher recommendations, may make application to the membership committee. The committee will review the applications, and the qualifying students will be invited to join. The membership committee consists of Spanish faculty.

     

     This Spanish National Honor Society was founded by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese in 1953 for the students of North American secondary schools. This Chapter is due to the efforts of Beverly Gasgoine of Walton High School who established it on April 30, 1996. The name of this Chapter is Rosalía de Castro. Our motto is “All together.” Our colors are red and gold. Our insignia and seal are those of the mother association.

     

    Esta Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica fue fundada por la Asociación Americana de Maestros de español y portugués en 1953 para los estudiantes de las escuelas secundarias norteamericanas. Este capítulo se debe a los esfuerzos de la Profesora Beverly Gasgoine de Walton High School que lo estableció en 30 de abril de 1996. El nombre de este capítulo es Rosalía de Castro. Nuestro lema es "Todos a una." Nuestros colores son el rojo y el oro. Nuestra insignia y nuestro sello son los de la madre asociación.
